Evaluation process

At L’avenir the day begins with certain aims and objectives. Whatever activities we do with children, detailed thought has been given to it. Over the time we have developed a very unique way of evaluating children’s progress. Our evaluation process is a combination of Subjective and Objective growth of our children. As L’avenir is nurturing young children, so it is very important for us to know where each child stands, emotionally, physically, mentally, socially as well as inwardly. To be true to children’s natural growth and to measure their gradual progress in every domain, we maintain Daily observations, Weekly observations and Monthly observations.

Besides writing their observation and children’s evaluation at L’avenir, teachers are also supposed to maintains a Self-reflective journal to measure their own growth. The deep contact between the children and the teacher forms the basis of regular assessment. So the planning for each day is fine-tuned based equally on their observation of the child and the teacher’s Self-reflection.

The teachers also interact with the parents (and vice-versa) to share and exchange notes, so as to make their understanding of the child’s world and needs more comprehensive. At the end of the term, a detailed Progress Report of the child is sent to the parents, followed by a parent-teacher meeting to further the child’s progress in conjunction.
